Helen Hatch Inglesby (Savannah, 1914-1999), 3 Silhouettes, unframed, comprising a silhouette of a scoutmaster with young scout, mounted on board (unsigned), a father with two children, and a man at desk with guitar and typewriter, initial signed. Size of small silhouettes: 4 7/8 in. x 7 in.

John Duncan purchased remainder of artists works from their estate in 1999.

Savannah native Helen Hatch Inglesby had a long and prolific career as an artist working in a wide variety of media, though she was perhaps best known for her silhouettes. Inglesby studied at the College of William and Mary and at the Telfair Academy. She was devoted to the Savannah art world, exhibiting regularly with the Savannah Art Association and the Society of Georgia Artists, as well as teaching art at various schools in the city. Her work can be found in the permanent collections of the Morris Museum of Art, the Telfair Museum and in private collections.

Measurements: Height: of largest 9 in. x Width: 8 1/8 in.

Condition:

Overall good condition, very minor wear to edges of paper, toning and foxing, particularly to smaller silhouettes.
