Description:

George III Sterling Silver Tureen, Joseph Angel, 1816, exceptional soup tureen of oval rounded form, the upper flared rim encompassed with foliate decorated border, the domed cover surmounted by handle ornamented with foliate and floral designs, fitted with two handles, supported by four lion-form feet, marked on body with makers mark 'JA', rampant lion, London city mark, George III duty mark, and 1816 date mark, the cover marked with makers mark, rampant lion, and date mark. 132.36 troy ounces.

Measurements: Height: 10 in. x Width: 15 in. x Depth: 10 in.

Condition:

Good condition, wear and surface scratches with throughout, small ding to body on one side, small 1/2 in. crack in flaired rim, possibly at a seam, bottoms of feet worn commensurate with age and use.
