George Gardner Symons was an american painter noted for his plein-air landscapes that combined inspiration from impressionism and realism. He recieved his art education at the Chicago Art Institute. Symons was a member of the National Academy of Design, the National Arts Club, the Institute of Arts and Letters, Salmagundi Club, the Royal Society of British Artists, and the Union Internationale des Beaux Arts et des Lettres.
