Gatja Helgart Rothe was an artist known for her mezzotint printmaking. As a young woman, Rothe was an apprentice in her father's goldsmith studio before studying art in university. Rothe travelled extensively and was broadly exhibited in her lifetime. Rothe often mixed the colors on her plates by hand, insuring that each edition of a print was unique. Her work explores her interest in everything from the human body to graffiti and can be found in many private and public collections.

Good condition, slightly wavy, toning to left and bottom edges of paper.
