Description:
Flemish School, Inscribed Pourbus, Possibly Frans Pourbus the Younger (Flemish, 1569-1622), Untitled, Oil on Panel, inscribed 'Pourbus pinxit' upper right, with shield presumably of sitter upper left marked 'Petrus Curtug, Ep Bruges', depicting a Bishop wearing a hat and fur-trimmed jacket with four rings including a signet ring, with wax collectors seal on verso 'Collection Batley', in a later wood frame. Frame size: 36 1/4 in. x 29 in.Measurements: Height: 32 1/4 in. x Width: 25 1/4 in.
Condition:
Fair condition, losses and craquelure to paint (see photos), age cracks to wood, inpainting along age cracks.
