Description:
Federal Inlaid Mahogany Secretaire Sideboard, c. 1810, of breakfronted form, the secretaire drawer with inlaid oval panel, opening to drawers above pigeon-holes and a baize lined writing surface over a pair of cupboard doors, flanked on the left by a drawer over a deep drawer and flanked on the right by a drawer above a cellaret drawer raised on tapering square legs.Measurements: Height: 42 1/4 in. x Width: 71 in. x Depth: 28 1/2 in.
Condition:
With previous restorations, now with later varnish, age cracks, old marks, scratches, stains and water stains to top, perishing to varnish and age cracks to veneers of drawer fronts, bowing to right front corner of top, handles replaced, age cracks to veneers of sides, scuffs to legs and feet.Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the conditions of aging.
