Description:
Empire Style Mahogany Gilt-Metal Mounted Desk, the rectangular top with slanted center section opening to a satinwood lined interior with pigeonholes and drawers, surmounted by a glass shelf fitted for ink wells and writing implements further surmounted by a hinged divided compartment flanked by two drawers on either side, the lower section with an arrangement of 9 drawers raised on square tapering legs ending in animal paw feet. This was John Duncan's personal desk where he spent countless hours researching and writing.Measurements: Height: 46 1/2 in. x Width: 54 in. x Depth: 31 1/2 in.
Condition:
Good condition, old marks scratches and stains, some chipping to edges, upper left drawer molded edge detached, one handle missing, one handle off.
