Description:

Continental School, Oval Portrait of a Gentleman, Oil on Canvas, Late 18th/19th Century, unsigned, depicting a three quarter portrait of a gentleman in navy coat with gold buttons, in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 34 3/4 in. x 30 in.

Measurements: Height: by sight 22 3/4 in. x Width: 18 in.

Condition:

Fair condition, small losses in gentleman's right cheek and above shoulder in background, possible repaired tears in background above both shoulders, with obscuring varnish, wear and losses throughout frame.
