Christopher P.H. Murphy (Savannah, 1869-1939) Wright Square, Savannah, Watercolor, initial signed in pencil lower right, depicting Wright Square Savannah, GA with strolling figures, matted and framed with artist plaque in mat. Frame size: 19 1/8 in. x 15 1/2 in.Christopher P. H. Murphy was a prominent Savannah artist in the 19th and 20th century. Though he had no formal artistic training his work was exhibited at the Fourth Annual Exhibition of American Art in New York, Art Institute of Chicago, Cincinnati Art Museum, Washington Watercolor Club, and Southern States Art League, among others.

Condition:
Good condition, foxing, light toning to paper, small crease and small tear left side of upper edge, small faint crease top right corner.
