Description:

Frederick Childe Hassam (NY/MA, 1859-1935), Bowling on the Green, Etching, initial signed lower right in pencil, signed and dated 'Nov. 27th, 1931' in plate lower right and marked and dated lower left, depicting figures on the lawn of Mount Vernon. Matted and framed. Frame size: 15 1/2 in. x 20 3/4 in.

Childe Hassam was an American painter best known for his impressionistic depictions of Boston, New York, and the countryside and coastline of New England. Hassam’s work can be found in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art among many others.
