Description:
Charles Themmen (CT, fl. 1850's-60's), Snow River Landscape with Stag, Oil on Canvas, 1871, signed and dated 1871 lower right quadrant, depicting stag on a cliff overlooking a frozen river, with label on the back 'This oil painting "Winter Scene" is the Property of Osborn ---- Curry, Given to him Nov 1890 or 96 by me Rebecca - Olsheig.'Charles Themmen was a landscape painter who lived and worked in Connecticut in the 19th century.
Measurements: Height: of canvas 27 1/8 in. x Width: 39 7/8 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, some punctures in lower corners and edges are worn, repaired tears to right of stag and lower left corner.Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the conditions of aging.
