Charles G. Svendsen began his art training at the Cincinnati Art Academy in his hometown before going on to study at both the Académie Julien and Colarossi in Paris. He was primarily a church decorator and painter of religious scenes and landscapes. His work can be seen in churches around Cincinnati and various museums. (Cincinnati Art Galleries)
