Description:

(British Politicians and Soldiers, c. 18th-19th Century ) 3 Articles, comprising William Henry Smith (1788-1865, English Naval Officer and hydrographer) autograph letter signed, dated '65, regarding a publication on astronomy (toning, wear to edges, last page trimmed); an autograph letter signed by Alexander Murray and dated 1815 (toning, minor wear to edges, some areas of minor bleeding to ink); autograph letter signed by George Montagu Dunk (1716-1771, 2nd Earl of Halifax, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland) to Sir James Lowther (1736-1802) concerning a complaint, dated 1763 (toning, minor wear to edges, creases from folding, foxing, small stains); and Studholme Hodgson (1708-1798, British field marshal) document signed as "Major General and Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Forces" regarding an order that 500 pounds be paid to a captain to arrange procurement of subsistence for his regiment, dated 1761 (minor toning, page in two pieces, minor wear to edges, foxing).
