Description:

Benny Andrews, 2 Framed Figure Lithographs, Benny Andrews (GA/NY, 1930-2006), 2 Framed Figure Engravings, 1970, each pencil signed and dated lower right, the one of woman and child with inscription on the back 'Benny Andrews, Plight, ED. 60 GR5108', sheet size: 20 1/8 in. x 15 in., the other with pencil inscription on the back 'Benny Andrews, Washload, ED 60, GR5107', sheet size: 20 1/2 in. x 14 7/8 in., both matted and framed. Frame size: 23 3/4 in. x 17 3/4 in. Plate size of woman and child: 14 3/4 in. x 10 5/8 in.

Andrews was born in Madison, Georgia, receiving his BFA from the School of the Art Institute Chicago in 1958. He is well renowned for his work is in collage, sculpture, illustration, drawings, paintings and prints. His artwork is part of the permanent collections of the museum of Modern Art, New York; the Brooklyn Museum, New York; the Museum of African Art, Washington, D.C.; the Chrysler Museum, Virginia, and the O'Hara Museum, Tokyo, among others.

Measurements: Height: plate size of 'Washload' 13 1/2 in. x Width: 8 5/8 in.

Condition:

Overall good condition, drawing depicting woman and child with faint crease upper left corner, both with very minor toning to paper, light wear to frames.
