Description:
Andrew W. Melrose (NJ/CA, 1836-1901), Plymouth Rock, Oil on Canvas, 1880, signed and dated '80 lower left and titled and dated 'Dec. 21, 1820' lower right, depicting two winter scenes of figures camped along a shoreline within an image of a settlement with figures and log buildings, in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 30 in. x 19 3/4 in.Measurements: Height: by sight 23 3/4 in. x Width: 13 5/8 in.
Condition:
Good restored condition, craquelure, repaired tear with inpainting center of upper left quadrant, other areas of inpainting throughout, relined, wear to edges of frame.
