Description:

American School, Pair of Pastel Portraits, Early 19th Century, unsigned, depicting Anne Grant and Reverend John Marsh of East Windsor, Connecticut, who were married on December 6th, 1775, both in giltwood frames with worn labels on verso pertaining to the sitters and their relatives. Frame size: 14 1/4 in. x 13 1/8 in.

Provenance: Descended in family of Anne and John Marsh. Purchased by consignor at Sotheby's Important American Furniture, Folk Art, 10/24/86, sale number 5500, Lot 232, hammer price $8250.

Measurements: Height: by sight of portrait 6 3/4 in. x Width: 5 1/8 in.

Condition:

Overall good condition, not viewed out of frames, some wear to frames.
