Description:

After Lucas Cranach, Hunters with Deer, Oil on Copper, Probably 18th C., unsigned, depicting a detail from "Hunt at the Castle of Torgau in Honor of Charles V" with five bow hunters next to a river with three stags. The original painting at the Museo del Prado in Spain. In a giltwood frame. Frame size: 17 in. x 14 1/4 in.

Provenance: purchased in 1968 from Casa Mas Plateria Ord Y antiguedades, Boza

Measurements: Height: by sight 14 3/8 in. x Width: 11 5/8 in.

Condition

Overall good condition, loss to paint in side of tree in the right quadrant, small areas of loss along bottom of left edge, some small faint scratches throughout, faint glue residue in upper right quadrant from repair to frame, small area of gilt paint in central right edge from a frame repair, wear and small losses to frame.
