Property from a Private Collection, Hilton Head Island, SCeach from the Birds of America by John James Audubon, 1843, French matted and framed, some having the pages from the book relating to the print in pocket on verso, according to the consignor the book that they were taken from was signed by Eleanor Roosevelt and each has a photocopy attached verso, comprising Iceland or Gyr Falcon plate 19 (bug damage with inpainting upper left corner), Long Billed Curlew, pl. 355 (stains particularly along right side), White Ibis no. 360 (crease lower left, frame varies from others, 17 7/8 in. x 20 3/8 in.), Clapper Rail of Salt Water Marsh Hen pl. 310, Sharp tailed Finch pl. 174 (some foxing), Crested Titmouse pl. 125 (some yellowing, slightly wavy paper), Hudsonian Curlew pl. 356 (two creases upper right quadrant), Barn Owl pl. 34, and Carolina Titmouse pl. 127. Approx. sight size 10 in. x 6 in. Size of frames: H. 21 1/4 in. x W. 17 1/4 in.
