Description:

Adel Saghir (Lebanese, 1930-2020), Heavenly Bounty, 1979, Reliefed Acrylic and Rhoplex on Canvas, signed and dated lower left, signed, titled and dated on verso, with gold and red characters on a blue and green and ground, with pencil inscription on verso reading 'and therefore of the bounty of thy Lord by thy discourse,' with heavy varnish, in a wood frame. Frame size: 55 in. x 64 3/4 in.

Provenance: Purchased from the artist via Washington Place Artists Gallery, New York, 1980.

Adel Saghir studied at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts and trained in the studio of Maryette Charlton at the American University of Beirut. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich before settling permanently in the United States. He has exhibited widely and his work can be found in many museum and corporate collections.

Measurements: Height: by sight, 46 7/8 in. x Width: 57 in.

Condition:

Good condition, varnish slightly yellowed. Light wear to frame.
