Description Property of Harriet Delong David Delong (NJ/GA, 1930-2001), Reverse Seascape I, Oil on Canvas, c. 1964, signed lower right. Frame size: 23 1/8 in. x 17 1/4 in. Exhibited 'David Delong: Passages', Telfair Museum of Art, Savannah, GA, 2006. David Delong studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1951/1958 and received a B.S. degree in painting from NYU in 1970. 'Rich, saturated blues and greens appear in early, expressive seascapes like the untitled 'reverse seascape'. Drawing upon Delong's memories of his seafaring days in the merchant marine during the late 1940s, these works also evidence his familiarity with the robust seascapes of American artists like George Bellows.' (David Delong: Passages, Telfair Museum of Art 2006, pg. 23).
