Property from a Lancaster County PA/Hilton Head Collector American School, Mrs. Hermann Herr and Daughter, Louisa, Oil on Canvas, 19th Century, unsigned, depicting seated woman in a white bonnet holding a book and with standing child in white dress with pink sash, in a bird's eye maple frame. Frame size: 37 1/2 in. x 32 in. Provenance: Purchased circa 1965 from Israel Sack, NY, NY. This lot includes Sack brochure number 13 dated April 1965 with this painting photographed and described noting that Louisa married Harrison Rutherford, Lampeter (Lancaster County) PA, early 19th century, and that the Herr and Bachmann families are interrelated.
