Mario Yrisarry (Philippines/New York, b. 1933), Untitled, Acrylic on Canvas, depicting blocks of color in a Fibonacci sequence , in a shadowbox frame, therefore unable to view back of canvas where the artist normally signs his paintings. Frame size 19 1/2 in. height x 19 1/2 in. width. Together with photocopies of a photo of Yrisarry in the Village Voice from 1969 announcing that he is the first one man show at the O.K. Harris Gallery on West Broadway, a CV and other show announcements.
Yrisarry was represented by David McKee Gallery Inc. 140 East 63 Street, New York, and was included in their show "20th Century Paintings, Sculpture and Drawings" including Robert Motherwell and David Smith in September 1974. His work is in the permanent collection at The Whitney Museum of American Art and was exhibited in their 1973 show "Recent Acquisitions."
