Property from a Private Collection, Atlanta, GA Thomas Yates (British, c. 1760-1796), Squadron of a Men-of-War Lying Off Gibraltar Bay, O/C, signed and dated lower right, with tablet 'A Squadron of a Men-of-War Lying off Gibraltar Bay, Taken from the Kings Bastion, Lieut. Thomas Yates, R. N. c. 1760-1796', and with label on the back from The Parker Gallery, London, in a giltwood frame. Together with bill of sale from Elliott Galleries and a letter from the National Maritime Museum, London dated 1981 stating that although it cannot be proved it could have been exhibited at a Royal Academy exhibiton in 1792 as number 355.
