Property from the Collection of Eleanor Sandy West, Ossabaw Island, Georgia Martha Odum (Georgia, 1917-1995), Ossabaw Sound, Watercolor on Paper, signed lower right, mat marked in pen lower right corner 'Ossabaw Island, April 69', written on back of mat 'Ossabaw Sound 7' and on back 'Ossabaw Sound 7, April 8, 1969', unframed. 'The artist painted colorful coastal scenes of Georgia, California, Oregon, Maine, Portugal and northern France, as well as desert and mountain landscapes of Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. Odum, a native of Chicago, was an active member in the Athens art community for over 50 years while her husband taught ecology at the University of Georgia.' (from the Georgia Museum of Art)
