Description:

4 Russian Painted Lacquer Boxes, comprising a rectangular box signed and inscribed in Russian along bottom edge of lid, depicting a portrait of a bejeweled woman with elaborate crown and fur lined cloak (7 1/2 in. x 6 in. x 2 in.); a rectangular lacquer box signed and inscribed in Russian on bottom, with mother-of-pearl inlaid lid painted with a young couple with cat on a swing (5 3/4 in. x 5 in. x 1 in.); a long rectangular box signed and inscribed in Russian along bottom edge of lid, and marked and inscribed 'Made in Russia' on bottom, the lid painted with three figures dressed in furs in a gilt chariot being pulled by three colorful horses with city scape in the background, together with certificate from original purchase in Palekh Russia and original box from 'Pushkin Art Gallery' (2 3/8 in. x 7 5/8 in. x 1 3/8 in.); and a rectangular box signed and inscribed bottom edge of lid, the lid painted with the Virgin Mary and Christ Child framed in a gilt arch and standing among pink roses, together with typed label 'Fedoskino, Madonna by Olga Bobrul, #7249/54799' (6 1/2 in. x 4 1/2 in. x 1 1/2 in.).

Measurements: Height: of largest 7 1/2 in. x Width: 6 in. x Depth: 2 in.

Condition:

Overall good condition, very minor general wear and scratches to lacquered surfaces.
