Property from a Private Collection Palm Beach and Easthampton Pair of Northern Italian Walnut and Parcel Gilt Armchairs, Venice, C. 1730, each with serpentine upholstered back flanked by open arms centering a loose fitted cushion and over upholstered seat, raised on cabriole legs carved with rocaille, with gilt highlights. Christie's Lot Note: 'The rocaille-carved elements to the arms and seat rail of this chair, with shell patterns and wave-like scrolls, illustrate the incorporation of maritime influences in their design.
