Description:

1984 Los Angeles Olympics Relay Torch and Related Book, this torch is consigned by one of the team of 200 runners from AT&T, a sponsor of the relay, covering 9,300 miles across the United States from May 8 until July 28. The aluminum torch was designed with a brass finish and leather handle to give it an antique look. The Olympic motto “Citius, Altius, Fortius” is etched on the ring of the torch with the Olympic rings between each word. Etched below the top ring on the exterior of the main bowl of the torch and below each of the Olympic rings on the top ring are images of Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. A brass finished ring is affixed to the leather handle that reads “Games of the/ XXIIIrd Olympiad/ Los Angeles 1984.” A brass finished cap is at the end of the torch with the 1984 Summer Olympics logo etched into it. Together with Mickey Hersskowitz, One With The Flame, Carrying the Olympic Torch Across America, New American Library, New York and Scarborough Ontario, 1985.

Measurements: Height: 23 in. x Width: 5 in.

Condition:

Good overall condition, some wear along outer top ring with slight dent, some minor scratches and wear. Book with tears to dust jacket and other light wear.
